Wilco bolsters efforts against wildfires

The Williamson County Fire Chief’s Association has adopted the Williamson County Wildfire Task Force Regional Procedure as a way to streamline requests for additional resources during active wildfires in the county.

Wilco discusses dispatch rates for non-county calls

Williamson County Commissioners Court supported the creation of a Jarrell ISD Police Department during its Tuesday, August 1, meeting. According to a signed agreement, the county will provide the school district with dispatch services and access to public safety software systems.

New nature preserve set to open in Jarrell this fall

Hill Country Conservancy is opening a nature preserve in northern Williamson County after an anonymous landowner donated 1,205 acres to the nonprofit. Named the Pecan Springs Karst Preserve, the property is five miles west of Jarrell.

Commissioners Court discusses new laws around future bond elections

Commissioners discuss Fiscal Year 2024 pay for county employees

Williamson County Senior Director of Human Resources Rebecca Clemons gave multiple presentations July 25 to commissioner’s court about updates to the county employee policy manual, compensation and other items involving county employees. If approved, policies will go into effect on October 1.

Williamson County vector program tracking West Nile cases

Summer is a season of sunny days and family vacations. A time when Texas barbecue junkies show off their brisket recipe in a smoker. Kids spend their days at local pools, and using slip and slides and kiddie pools in the backyard, enjoying the refreshing water.
