Thrall Diner has ties to community

The old WW2 barracks between the train tracks and U.S. Highway 79 in Thrall has been used for many things over the years, but now serves as the home of Thrall Diner. “The story that I heard is that after the war, the government gave these buildings to churches,” Restaurant Co-Owner Jodie Wolf said.

Early voting starts October 23

With numerous elections taking place throughout Williamson County, Wilco residents will have an opportunity to vote early beginning October 23 and on election day November 7. County residents can visit any Williamson County polling location to cast their vote.

Williamson County jury convicts man of money laundering

A Williamson County jury found Vicente Alonso-Carbajal guilty of money laundering after a three-day trial, on October 12.   Trial Division Chief Mike Waldman and Assistant District Attorney Edward Wilkinson prosecuted the case. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

ROCK hosts second annual Cowgirl Brunch in November

Georgetown nonprofit Ride on Center for Kids will hold its second annual Cowgirl Bruncheon at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 4, at the Merlin Hoppe Arena at 2050 Rockride Lane in Georgetown.   This year’s “Courage & Grit” themed bruncheon will feature Rear Admiral Christina M.

Liberty Hill Man arrested on murder charges

Ryan Adam Madden, 38, was taken into custody for the alleged homicide of 42-year-old Cody Wayne Kinslow of Temple on September 29, according to the Bell County Sheriff’s Office.  Referred to as the “Little Flock Homicide” by authorities, Bell County authorities said Mr.

National Fire Protection Week focuses on cooking safety

The Williamson County Fire Marshal’s office is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association to promote this year’s Fire Protection Week campaign, “Cooking safety starts with you. Pay attention to fire prevention.”  Fire Prevention Week is October 8 through 14.

Williamson County hosts first bond information open house

Williamson County residents had an opportunity to learn about and discuss the upcoming county bond election at an open house at the Georgetown Annex off of Wilco Way October 3. Two county bonds will be up to vote in November.
