Williamson County remembers 9/11 on Patriot Day

On September 11, Williamson County residents will remember and honor the lives lost during the 9/11 attacks and other acts of great courage and sacrifice in services and events throughout the county. Here is a list of the events honoring Patriot Day.

Williamson County adds EMS to Round Rock

Williamson County Emergency Medical Services added additional resources to its EMS station at 1781 East Old Settlers Boulevard Wednesday, September 6.   Wilco EMS added a second 24-hour ambulance at the station to better serve residents in that growing area, and added six medics to that station.

Court, deputies association clash over numbers needed to protect county

The Williamson County Deputies Association spoke out against the Williamson County Commissioners Court during the Tuesday commissioners court meeting over the amount of funds the Sheriff’s Office will receive for the 2024 Fiscal Year budget.

Tax rate, budget of $560 million for Wilco residents

The Williamson County Commissioners Court unanimously approved the county budget and tax rate for the 2024 fiscal year.   The budget is priced at $560,109,974 with a tax rate of 37.9282 cents per 100 valuation, which is a 7.74 percent increase.

County bakes, literally, in worst possible drought conditions

With the end of summer approaching, Williamson County is experiencing a record drought. The worst drought previously was in August 2011, which lasted five months. The county returned to Moderate Drought in May 2012.

Williamson County recognizes employees of the year

Williamson County Commissioners Court recognized its employees of the year and project team of the year for 2023 during the August 22 meeting. The award recipients were selected by a committee with 29 nominations over five categories.

Wilco Commissioners Court approves proposed 2024 budget

Williamson County Commissioners on August 22 unanimously approved the proposed budget for the 2024 Fiscal Year on first reading and will vote on the finalized budget and tax rate during their next meeting.  The proposed expenditures to the general fund amount for FY 2024 totals $313.4 million.
