Williamson County Livestock showcases kids’ work

The Williamson County Livestock Association will host its 78th annual Livestock Show and auction in the Williamson County Expo Center. Lasting a week, the show will begin on Sunday, December 3 with over 500 exhibitors participating in different shows.

District Attorney set to host remembrance ceremony

The Williamson County District Attorney's Office invites residents to the county courthouse for the 11th Annual Tree of Angels at 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 5.

District Attorney releases sexual assault data

The Williamson County District Attorney Special Crimes Unit released the first Sexual Assault Response Team report and presented it to the Commissioners Court during the November 21 meeting.

Unemployment decreases across county

The Texas Workforce Commission released updated unemployment numbers for Central Texas counties for October 2023.  In October, unemployment in Williamson County decreased to 3.5 percent after spending two months at 3.7 percent.

Corrections director gets promoted to Texas council

Jameson Pennington, Williamson County Community Supervision and Corrections Department for Adult Probation director, was elected to serve on the Probation Advisory Council of Texas.     “I’m honored to be elected to this position and look forward to serving our region,” he said in a statement.

Williamson County remembers loved ones during holiday season

The Williamson County Commissioners Court will recognize December 5 as Tree of Angels Day this year. Commissioners approved the recognition during a meeting Tuesday, November 21.

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will offer its annual Home for the Holidays fostering program this year.   As a part of the Home for the Holidays foster program, residents can pick out any medium or large dog as a foster pet through the holiday season.

Williamson County Emergency Medical Services is offering its first free class to the public about the dangers of opioids at EMS Headquarters, 3189 Southeast Inner Loop in Georgetown at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6.

Williamson County exits agreement with United Way

In a special eight-minute-long meeting on Monday, November 13, the Williamson County Commissioner’s Court unanimously approved the termination of an agreement to manage federal ARPA funds for Breast Cancer screening provided through United Way of Greater Austin.
