Jarrell places bid for Georgetown CCN

Jarrell is obtaining more than 1,000 undeveloped acres of Georgetown’s water territory, and has submitted official paperwork to the Public Utility Commissioner of Texas to complete the transfer.

Jarrell City Manager resigns

Jarrell’s City Manager Jorge Hernandez — who joined the city in December 2024 — has resigned. After seeking counsel from the city attorney, Jarrell City Council accepted Mr. Hernandez’s resignation Tuesday, April 7. Mr. Hernandez was placed on administrative leave on February 19.

Jarrell finalizes terms for Walmart infrastructure

Still pending a signature, the City of Jarrell discussed the final terms and conditions for an incentive and development agreement for Walmart during its February 19 city council meeting.

Developer asks for agreement after two years of negotiations

After two years of no progress, land developers for the Tonn Tract project on County Road 305 presented Jarrell City Council with an ultimatum — sign an official development agreement or face the property disannexing from the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction.

Coming down the pipelines: Jarrell makes strides with infrastructure grant projects

With two American Rescue Plan Act projects and one Community Block Development Grant up for consideration, Jarrell City Council approved steps regarding federally grant-funded projects during its November 4 meeting.

Williamson County okays tax incentives for food distributor in Jarrell

Williamson County commissioners approved a tax abatement agreement for Labatt Food Service, LLC during the October 21 meeting. According to the company's website, Labatt Food Service is headquartered in San Antonio and is the 10th-largest food service distributor in the nation.

Hungry for more: Food distribution company gets tax incentives to build $45 million project in Jarrell

A new food service distributor is coming to Jarrell. During the July 1 City Council meeting, officials unanimously approved the contract and the dates for Labatt Food Services to begin the process to set up shop within the city.

Jarrell adds splash pad to growing subdivision

Jarrell officials approved the city’s third parkland during the April 15 city council meeting in a 3-2 vote, n a 3-2 vote, with Mayor Patrick Sherek casting the tie-breaking vote. Located in the Hunters Glen Subdivision, the 7.

City of Jarrell reviews financial status

The City of Jarrell is in good financial standing, according to a Fiscal Year 2024 report by third-party accountant Phil Vaughan. During Jarrell’s April 1 city council meeting, Mr. Vaughan reported that the city increased its general fund and utility revenues.

Jarrell paves way for county bond project

Jarrell City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Williamson County for the County Road 305 bond project during the March 18 meeting. The agreement will have Williamson County pay for the construction on the road, while the city will maintain and reimburse the county.
