Austin Avenue bridge rehab This is the rehabilitation of the Austin Avenue bridge that includes new safety rated rails, required maintenance and a new bridge deck. The original estimated completion date was April 15, 2026, but has been pushed back to August.

Overpass struck, causing road closures

On Tuesday, September 2, at around 2:30 p.m., an oversized load from an 18-wheeler traveling on Interstate 35 struck the Highway 29 overpass near Wolf Ranch.

Georgetown offers rideshares as public transit option

Later this year, the City of Georgetown will launch a transportation program that will allow residents to take rides with UberX that will be partially paid for by the city. This is part of the city’s effort to create a public transportation system for residents.
