Work on Sam Bass Road begins in Round Rock

Williamson County will hold a public ground breaking on Sam Bass Road for the Corridor H project at 2 p.m. Friday, May 19. The project will widen the roadway from Ranch to Market Road 1431 to Wyoming Springs Drive in anticipation of future traffic needs.

Over the next few months, Taylor will be the site of some major road work, which Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles said he hopes will alleviate resident concerns. “There’s been an increase in traffic between Hutto and Taylor on a variety of roads — state, city and county,” he said.

Due in part to rising construction costs and inflation, Williamson County is facing a funding gap of more than $100 million to complete projects outlined in the 2019 road bond package, according to Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long.

Georgetown receives funds for FM 971 expansion project

The City of Georgetown received $4 million in federal funding to help expand Farm to Market Road 971, a project the city has been eying for some time.

New RM 620 overpass opens in Round Rock

The Texas Department of Transportation opened the new eastbound overpass for RM 620 at Briarwood Drive at Chisholm Trail Friday, January 6. The overpass is part of the Ranch to Market Road 620 Roundabout project.
