Brown Symposium to explore revolution, rebellion and resistance through art

This year’s Brown Symposium at Southwestern University will explore how art can both drive and reflect social change, symposium co-chairs Eric Selbin and Kimberly Smith said.  Mr. Selbin is a professor of political science at the university, while Ms. Smith is a professor of art history.

Light show, Market Days on Georgetown, Wilco 175th anniversary celebration schedule

Williamson County and the City of Georgetown will celebrate their 175th birthday with a two-day event March 10-11.  A formal kick off ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. March 10 on the east side of the historic courthouse. The county will host tours of the courthouse throughout the day.

Enjoy when everything goes wrong

The Palace production of The Play That Goes Wrong opens Friday, February 10. As the name implies, things quickly go from bad to utterly disastrous in this comedy mystery. The play is well known for its very unique stage set and it won both Tony and Drama Desk awards for set design.

ROCK to throw March 1 kick off event for Amplify Austin fundraiser

Georgetown nonprofit organization ROCK, Ride On Center for Kids, is hosting a kickoff party and fundraiser for Amplify Austin Day 2023. The family-friendly event takes place 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Tejas Meat Supply, 101 East Seventh Street.
