Williamson County forms group to bolster long-term water supply

Williamson County officials officially launched what they say will be a long-term water solution for the region. County commissioners allocated $500,000 for a Williamson County Water Study on November 25. The goal, according to the agenda, is to have a water solution in place for the next 50 years.

Nonprofits combat hunger across Wilco ahead of holidays

‘Our future is very bright’

Florence Mayor Ben Daniel used a photo of a rainbow over the city’s downtown as a visual depiction of the city’s future during the community’s first-ever State of the City address. “What is the state of the city of Florence? Very, very hopeful,” he said Friday, November 14.

Stone carver in Florence creates trippy sculptures and architecture

Bob Ragan has been carving outlandish sculptures and commissioned architectural pieces in Florence since 1978, when he and his partner Mary Condon moved there to escape the hustle and bustle of Austin. His personal sculptures are based on characters in a fictional village he sketches.
