County debuts Atlas 14 results

Williamson County began hosting its public meeting series about the initial Altas 14 Flood Study results on May 29.   The preliminary data shows that extreme flooding event precipitation levels have increased by two inches in a 100-year flood.

Due to a staffing shortage and ongoing renovations at the Williamson County Sun office on the Square in Georgetown, the newspaper will be temporarily closing its office and lobby to the public beginning Friday, May 31.

TIRZ revenues helps fund master plan

Projects in the Downtown Master Plan will mainly be funded through the city’s Downtown Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone.A Tax Reinvestment Zone, or TIRZ, provides a way for a set geographical area in the city to generate money that is solely used within that area.
