Fire department demands have grown with the community

There has been a 46 percent increase in emergency system demand in Georgetown since 2020, and the city’s fire department expects a 5 percent increase year over year for Georgetown in 2024, Fire Chief John Sullivan told city council February 13.

City council incumbents unopposed

Georgetown City Council District 1 representative Amanda Parr and District 5 representative Kevin Pitts are both running unopposed this spring, after no other candidates filed with the city as of the February 16 deadline. Both incumbent council members will retain their seats for another term.

Resident survey evaluates city services

The results of the most recent Georgetown Resident Survey show that of the 1,213 responses the city received, 94 percent of the respondents rated Georgetown’s overall quality of life as either good or excellent.  During the February 13 Georgetown City Council workshop, Dr.

Comptroller publishes February sales tax data

The Texas Comptroller released updated sales tax data for February 2024.     When looking at the data, Liberty Hill brought in 58.60 percent less in sales tax revenues when compared to February 2023. On the other side of the county, Taylor brought in 56.51 percent more in sales tax revenues.
