Courage and Grit: ROCK hosts second Cowgirl Brunch

Georgetown nonprofit Ride on Center for Kids held its second annual Cowgirl Brunch on November 4. During the event, the second Dr. Barbara Brightwell Courage & Grit Award was presented to Rebecca “Hunter” Adkins. Ms. Adkins was appointed by the governor to serve on the Texas Disabilities Council.

JP3 host Veteran’s Lunch December 1

Williamson County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Court will host a Veterans Appreciation Lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, December 1, at Georgetown Church of Christ.     The meal will include chicken spaghetti, green beans, corn, garlic bread and dessert.

Williamson County residents OK road, park bonds

Williamson County residents have approved both of the county’s 2023 bond propositions.  “The voters have overwhelmingly confirmed the direction we are going in Williamson County,” County Judge Bill Gravell said in a statement to the Sun.

FINAL RESULTS: Wilco bonds pass with 60% support from residents

Final update November 8, 12:20 a.m.  Final voting totals for Williamson County's two bond propositions show that Proposition A received support from 62.23 percent of county voters, and Proposition B received 59.89 percent support. Both propositions have been approved.  Update 10:50 p.m.

What to know about the flu and common winter illnesses

Commissioners point to hunger, homeless needs ahead of holidays

As the holidays are approaching, families are preparing their homes for the festivities: putting up the decorations, preparing the feast in the kitchen, welcoming visiting family and friends.

Light your holiday spirit later this month

The annual Lighting of the Square will happen on November 24 and will give families a chance to enjoy entertainment, donate toys and hear from city and county representatives. The lighting will occur on the east steps of the courthouse.
