Nonprofit fundraising day expands with Williamson County event

Since 2007, the organization I Live Here I Give Here has worked with Central Texans to give back to their communities and the nonprofits that serve them. Their titular event, Amplify Austin Day, is expanding into Williamson County, with the new event, Amplify Wilco.

Sales tax increases overall in county in newest report

Kicking off the new year, most of the cities in the county have seen increased revenue when comparing sales tax from January 2023 to January 2024.    Most notably, Taylor’s sales tax grew over 100 percent, allowing the city to rank in over $3.3 million.

Williamson County provides update, sets plans for next 10 years

Williamson County Commissioners Court heard an update on the 2023 Strategic Plan during the January 23 meeting at the County Courthouse.  Developed over the course of nine months from 2022 to 2023, The Strategic Plan is a 10-year guide that aims to direct the county’s time and efforts.

Georgetown ISD trustees unanimously approved new elementary and middle school attendance zones — effective in fall 2024 — at their January 16 meeting, ending a months-long effort studying multiple options.  Ultimately, trustees approved Plan No. 9 for elementary schools, and Plan No.

State Highway 130 lanes close due to multiple-car accident

The City of Georgetown posted on social media at 8:37 a.m. on Monday that State Highway 130 lanes southbound at the Interstate 35 exit are closed due to a multiple-vehicle accident.  The vehicle accident occurred at Patriot Way, according to the post.

Williamson County opens Emergency Operations Center
