Continental Cut Stone makes custom limestone pieces for high-profile projects

Continental Cut Stone — a residential and commercial supplier of limestone — will reach 39 years in operation next September. The company imports stone from quarry mining sites and makes custom stone elements for construction projects. Continental Cut Stone operates on 16.

Fill out surveys for Georgetown services

During the two week period between the holidays and New Years, Georgetown residents can take the time to fill out two surveys from the City of Georgetown: a survey about city services and ADA accessibility.

Nonprofits excluded from Georgetown's Red Poppy Festival

The Red Poppy Festival each spring brings live music, food and vendor booths to downtown Georgetown. It especially brings people — tens of thousands — from across Georgetown and the Austin area. In 2026, booths will be assigned only to businesses and those selling goods.

Williamson County to debut suicide survivor support program

Williamson County is launching a program to support individuals and families affected by suicide. Wilco’s senior death inquest investigator, Ruben Leal, joined Angela Williams, Justice of the Peace Precinct 2, during the December 9 Commissioners Court meeting to explain the L.O.S.S.

Bridges, Georgetown ISD’s career training program for developmentally-disabled youths, is branching out into the world of cooking and dining.Partnering with GISD’s culinary program to learn vocational and life skills, Bridges now offers another pathway to independence for its students.

Jail, Justice Center could move into new facilities by 2031

Williamson County is working to move the county jail and justice center operations away from downtown Georgetown by 2031. Located at 306 West Fourth Street in Georgetown, the current jail opened in 1989 and can hold more than 1,000 inmates.

Sun City developer Pulte could bring a new Municipal Utility District with about 395 homes to the east side of Georgetown between University Avenue, NE Inner Loop, the 130 Toll and the south shore of the San Gabriel River.
