Blood donation opportunities upcoming

We Are Blood is partnering with city officials and first responder agencies to host a series of blood drives from now until September 24. This collaboration grew out of the need to protect the local blood supply over the Labor Day holiday, when the organization typically sees a dip in donations.

State bill would impact Georgetown’s property tax revenue

Through a proposed bill at the state legislature, the amount of revenue the city could raise from property taxes without asking for voter approval would decrease from a 3.5 percent maximum to a 2.5 percent maximum.
