Georgetown District 4 Council Member Ron Garland is running for his second term because he has “thoroughly enjoyed” working with city staff in a time of growth to maintain the culture and small town spirit of the city. “I really ran [again] because I enjoyed it,” he said.

Texas country singer-songwriter Cory Morrow will headline Georgetown’s 26th annual Red Poppy Festival on Saturday, April 26. The country artist is known for songs like “The Man I’ve Been,” “Texas on My Mind” and “Always and Forever.”Mr. Morrow’s performance is from 8:30-10 p.m.

Williamson County Commissioners combine budgets for new HQ

The new Williamson County Headquarters project will cost an estimated $79.4 million, according to the Consolidated Guaranteed Maximum Price approved by commissioners February 11. Chasco Constructors is the contractor for the project.
