Georgetown ISD closed again Tuesday, reschedules board meeting due to weather

Georgetown ISD will remain closed Tuesday, January 27, due to continued icy conditions and anticipated low overnight temperatures near 20 degrees.

"While temperatures have risen and road conditions are improving in some areas, there is concern for our students and staff traveling in freezing conditions tomorrow morning," the district said in a statement. "Out of an abundance of caution and safety, Georgetown ISD is planning to cancel school for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

"We recognize that weather conditions vary throughout the area, and districts may experience varying impacts in their unique geographic areas. At this time, we expect after-school extra-curricular activities may resume unless otherwise communicated by a coach/director. "
