Seeds of Strength gives $159,000
Georgetown nonprofit Seeds of Strength supported 10 total organizations through its most recent grant cycle.
Seven organizations received a combined $157,500, and three more organizations received $500 merit awards.
“Today, we gather to celebrate another year of making a difference in the lives of our Georgetown residents,” Laura Packard, Seeds of Strength nominating committee chair, said during an awards presentation last week.
“Our seven grantees for the 2025-26 grant year, have a solid record of service to our community and to others. Five of our grantees are already proven partners of seeds of strength, and two of our grantees are new to our grant program.”
Ms. Packard said after the members voted on who to give the grants to, it was clear which seven would receive funding.
“Fortunately, we were able to give each one of them their full grant requests,” Ms. Packard said. “We had exactly the right amount of dollars for our grant and give the $500 awards to the others.”
