Work advances at Georgetown Costco, H-E-B
Work underway at major company buildsites
Costco gets busy
Construction vehicles can be spotted at the planned Georgetown Costo site near the Lakeway Drive and Interstate 35 intersection. The store’s plans were approved and the company is currently working on site prep and utility installation, Greg Holt, assistant building official for Georgetown’s Building Inspections Department, said in a statement. The city does not yet have a target date for the project’s completion, he said. However the company’s $4.4 million incentive agreement with Georgetown requires that it open by December 2024.
New H-E-B goes vertical
Six months after H-E-B broke ground at Wolf Lakes Village on its new Georgetown supermarket, vertical construction and continued site work can be observed on the northside of West University Avenue. At 121,000 square feet, the new H-E-B will be almost twice the size of the existing store it will eventually replace. Store features will include a True Texas BBQ restaurant, a pharmacy with two drivethrough lanes, a fuel station, Texas Backyard department, and curbside and home delivery services. The store is scheduled to open this spring.
