Williamson Central Appraisal District revels 2024 data

The total market value for Williamson County increased by $9.38 billion this past year, according to a June 4 presentation by the Williamson Central Appraisal District. According to the data, Williamson County’s total market value is $171.77 billion for 2024.

County Briefs: County offices observe Juneteenth

Williamson County offices will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, in honor of Juneteenth. All county operations will resume regular hours on Thursday, June 20.  While county offices are closed, residents may use online services that are offered in various departments.

City applies for $485,000 grant

The City of Georgetown will make three requests in its application to Williamson County’s 2024 Community Development Block Grant, which the county uses to fund projects that will address urgent community development needs and benefit low to moderate income residents.

Two Step Inn coming to Georgetown for three more years

Georgetown has locked in the Two Step Inn festival for an additional three years. City council on May 28 renewed its contract with C2 Acquisitions, LLC to produce Two Step Inn in San Gabriel Park until 2027. This is the first multi-year renewal between the city and company.

County debuts Atlas 14 results

Williamson County began hosting its public meeting series about the initial Altas 14 Flood Study results on May 29.   The preliminary data shows that extreme flooding event precipitation levels have increased by two inches in a 100-year flood.

AGs office asks county for assistance

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a nuisance abatement lawsuit asking the Williamson County Courts to stop Sun Spa — located in the county on Pond Springs Road in North Austin — from operating an alleged illicit massage business.

Williamson County Sun office temporarily closed

Due to a staffing shortage and ongoing renovations at the Williamson County Sun office on the Square in Georgetown, the newspaper will be temporarily closing its office and lobby to the public beginning Friday, May 31.

Development diversity key in driving business downtown

Changes in the Downtown Master Plan will create more walkable spaces through the business sector, while updates to the city’s Unified Development Code could accommodate taller buildings and more development density in the downtown district.
