Juliet Italian Kitchen coming to the Square

Juliet Italian Kitchen — an Austin-based restaurant that serves from-scratch Italian food inspired by the restaurants of Little Italy in New York City — will open a restaurant in the former home of Gumbo’s in Georgetown.

Williamson County Economic Development Partnership opens office in South Korea

The Williamson County Economic Development Partnership opened an office in Seoul, South Korea, July 1. The county provided an update about the office last week.

Harley’s Angels Sanctuary sets annual fundraiser for September

Harley’s Angels Sanctuary — a dog rescue based in Florence — is having its annual fundraiser from 2-6 p.m. September 23 at Mulligan’s Restaurant and Bar in Sun City. There will be a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction from 2 -5 p.m., as well as vendors selling holiday gifts, art and baked goods.

With a concept akin to one-stop-shopping, the Georgetown Health Foundation is uniting family-focused services and activities under one roof at the Carver Center for Families — housed in the former Carver Elementary School.

All Things Wild Racoon Rescue

Recently, All Things Wild, on Havelka Road,  began offering monthly classes about care of wild animals.  This month's class was about raccoons.  All Things Wild Rehabilitation was founded in 2012 by Helen Laughlin, who has cared for animals in need since 2006.

West Nile virus mosquito detected in Granger

A sample of mosquitoes was collected near Colorado Street in Granger on July 25 has tested positive for West Nile virus. The positive test was indicated in lab results received on July 27 from the Texas Department of State Health Services lab in Austin.

R Bank finds new home in downtown Georgetown

The Georgetown location of R Bank is relocating, moving from its space on Williams Drive to a new building at 405 Austin Avenue, across the street from Monument Cafe.   The new space is larger than the bank’s previous.  “We’d outgrown that building,” R Bank CEO Steve Stapp said.
