Wilco offices closed for Thanksgiving holiday

Williamson County offices will be closed November 24-25 for Thanksgiving and county commissioners will not be meeting the week following. Wilco offices will resume operations on Monday, November 28. The Commissioners Court meeting usually held on Tuesdays will not be held on November 29.

Georgetown city offices, facilities and some services — including the city’s solid waste and recycling collections, as well as GoGeo paratransit services — will close early Thanksgiving week. While most will close only on Thursday, November 24, some will remain closed on Friday, November 25.

The Caring Place launches online enrollment for aid

Just in time for the holidays, The Caring Place has opened an online portal to aid in financial assistance enrollment. The new portal offers neighbors the opportunity to confidentially fill out paperwork, upload documents and begin the enrollment process from their computer.

Paintings and fiber art on display in Round Rock

Enjoy the art of Melanie Maddox Olson at the Round Rock Public Library. This exhibit offers a selection of the artist’s paintings and fiber art including crewel embroidery. Her art is inspired by experiences living in Italy and Portugal and her love for poetry.

Georgetown area pickleball clubs honor out of town military group

The Sun City and Georgetown Pickleball clubs hosted a special event November 8 for a group of soldiers from Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, who are part of the Army Recovery Care Program. The program was formerly known as the Warrior Care and Transition Program.
