Senior University offers Take A Friend To Class day

Senior University, a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that offers classes to people over the age of 50, invites members to bring one of their friends to class for free next week. Members enrolled in fall classes can bring a friend to class from October 31-November 5.

Field of Honor brings weeklong patriotic celebration

Tornado causes property damage, overturned trailers near Jarrell

A tornado touched down in the north part of the county Monday evening as a cold front passed through the region, bringing high winds, rain and lightning. As of Tuesday morning, no loss of life had been reported, but damage was recorded in Jarrell.

The Rotary Club of Georgetown celebrated its 60th birthday last Friday at the First United Methodist Church of Georgetown, which has hosted them since their charter. “This is a special day,” Club President Cat Phelps said.

Why did you choose to run for county judge? I was a Republican, but was disappointed taxes went up even where Republicans controlled, like here in Williamson County. I’m for reducing tax rates enough so that the check you write for your property taxes gets smaller even when property values go up.
