Because hunger does not take a break on weekends, Georgetown Backpack Buddies volunteers spend weekdays making sure children have meals after the school week is over. “It’s why we do what we do,” said Bob Kostka, Backpack Buddies president.

Library hosts teen Halloween events Saturday

The Georgetown Public Library is hosting two Halloween-themed events geared toward pre-teens and teens this week. Both events are free. Beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, kids aged 9-12 can try to make it through the library’s Mystery Mansion Escape Room.
