TML chooses Georgetown for new headquarters

The Texas Municipal League’s Intergovernmental Risk Pool has chosen the old Wesleyan building at 205 East University Avenue as the location for its new headquarters and the Texas Municipal Center. The TML Risk Pool is currently located at 1821 Rutherford Lane in Austin.

The 10th annual AAUW Duck Race was held on the river at San Gabriel Park on Saturday, November 1, 2025.  Rubber ducks are placed in the river and race to the finish in several heats.  Winners of winning ducks win prizes.   The event raises funds for area high school student scholarships.

Georgetown eyes federal grants for road projects

The City of Georgetown will apply for four Surface Transportation Block Grants, which are federal funding opportunities for transportation projects including highway construction, pedestrian infrastructure and bridge repairs. The funds are distributed by the Capital Area Metro Planning Organization.

Out and About: Georgetown celebrates Day of the Dead

Día de los Muertos originated in Mexico but was celebrated locally with beautiful symbols, traditions and imagery in the remembrance of loved ones.The joyful three-day holiday starts October 31 with the Day of the Little Angels when spirits of deceased children visit their families.
