Susie Ramos

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Susie Ramos, a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, who left us peacefully on April 23, 2025, with her children and family gathered by her bedside. Born in Andice, Texas, on December 22, 1944, to Estanislado and Concepcion Bracamontez, Susie was the light of our lives and the heart of our family.

In 1965, she married the love of her life, Marcos Ramos. Susie and Marcos lived a beautiful life together with their two children, Emily and Mark. Susie’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, extraordinary mother, and the most loving grandmother. She celebrated every achievement of those she loved and never missed a special moment. Susie enjoyed cooking for her family, shopping, traveling, and gathering on Sundays to watch her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.

As a successful business owner of The Flower Box (1975 – 2010), Susie attributes her inspiration to Lillian Peterson, owner of The Flower Nook. Under Lillian’s guidance, Susie mastered the art of floral design and began a successful career in the floral industry. Earning the designation of Texas Master Florist (TMF) is a testament to Susie’s exceptional skill, knowledge, and dedication within the floral design profession in Texas. This experience paved the way for her to become Teleflora Unit President. Her passion led to many professional achievements that included being a member of the elite floral design team, who was responsible for designing the floral arrangements for George W. Bush’s inauguration.

As a devout Catholic and a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church, Susie believed in the power of prayer, not merely as a recitation of words, but as a heartfelt connection to something larger than us. She always believed more in giving rather than receiving. She will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and giving heart. Her dedication extended far beyond her home, reaching into the very fabric of her community.

As a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Planning and Zoning Committee, Susie played an active role in shaping the future of her town. She brought thoughtful insight and a collaborative spirit to every meeting, always focused on what would best serve her neighbors and the generations to come. Whether organizing local events, offering guidance to small businesses, or helping plan for responsible growth, Susie gave of herself without hesitation or expectation.

Her sense of responsibility was not performative but genuine, woven into every act of kindness and every promise kept. She believed that doing the right thing was not about recognition—it was about love, service, and dedication to her community.

Susie’s loving spirit is carried on by her children, Emily Price and Mark Ramos, her cherished grandchildren Kory and wife Olivia, Taylor, Jacob, Katy, and precious great-grandchild Josiah. She is also survived by her siblings Alfredo Bracamontez and wife Lucy, Ray Bracamontez and wife Alice, Joe Bracamontez and wife Mary Jane, Gene Bracamontez and wife Susie, Tommie Vasquez and husband Robert, Ramona Alvardo and husband Ruben, Margaret Torres and husband Abelardo, Ernest Bracamontez and wife Peggy, and Fernanda Munoz, many nieces and nephews, and a community who will deeply miss her compassionate soul.

Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Marcos Ramos; father, Estanislado Bracamonez, mother, Concepcion Bracamontez, and siblings; Domitila Bracamontez, Sylvester Bracamontez, and Domingo Bracamontez.

Susie Ramos, a beacon of compassion and love, will forever reside in our hearts. As we cope with this loss, we find solace knowing that her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. Her warmth touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on our community and beyond. We will cherish the memories of her unwavering kindness, her infectious laughter, and the profound impact she had on each of us. Though her physical presence is gone, the spirit of generosity and empathy she embodied will live on through the many lives she enriched.

The family will gather for visitation on Monday, May 5, 2025, at The Gabriel’s Funeral Chapel from 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Services will be held at St. Helen’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery and Prayer Gardens, 330 Berry Lane, Georgetown, Texas, 78626.
