Volunteer to clean up San Gabriel Park

Two park clean-up events will take place at San Gabriel Park on Tuesday, July 29, and Thursday, July 31, for those wanting to provide a helping hand.

The event on July 29 will take place from 9-11 a.m. The July 31 event will be from 4-6 p.m.

Volunteers will help clear pavilions of sand and debris, help with general cleaning and remove debris from trash cans and benches. Volunteers ages 13-15 must have a parent or guardian with them. Those under 13 cannot volunteer for cleanup.

Advanced registration is required and can be found at https://georgetowntexas.gov/dept_news_detail_T39_R533.php

According to the city, it is dirty work. Volunteers should come in clothes and closed-toe shoes that they don’t mind getting messy.

Wheelbarrows, water, light snacks, eye protection and gloves will be provided, but residents who have work gloves, a shovel or eye protection are encouraged to bring their own.
