Susan Cramer

Susan Cramer passed away August 23, 2025, at the age of 67. She was born in Euclid, Ohio to Donald Lee Cramer and Geraldine Kay Brent.  The family moved from Ohio to Houston, Texas, eventually settling in Corpus Christi, Texas. She spent her high school years in Houston, Texas but returned to Corpus Christi. She lived in the Williamson County area for many years, but at the end of December 2024 she moved into her dream “tiny house” in Belton.

Susan worked for many years as a bartender. It was a job she really loved. She spent much of her time in Corpus working at several bars. When her life took her to Georgetown, she tended bar at Georgetown County Club. She loved her time at GCC where she met many friends. She also worked at Mill Creek Golf Club in Salado and Russell Glass Company in Georgetown.

She was an avid reader and was known to read several books a week. She also collected elephants. From jewelry, knick knacks to artwork, if it had an elephant on it, she had it.

Susan loved gambling. Whether it was a trip to Coushetta, Winstar, Shreveport or Vegas, she really loved gambling. Las Vegas was her happy place.  She had many gambling buddies, both family and good friends. She also enjoyed games, especially carnival games. When she lived in Corpus Christi, she loved going to the Buccaneer Days carnival and playing games, winning lots of prizes. When the sisters would have “sisters weekend” in San Antonio they would always wind up at the games at SeaWorld or Fiesta Texas, coming home with loads of stuffed animals.  If more than 2 of us were together, a rousing game of “Cut throat Uno” would be played and we could play for hours.  Susan was a shopper, she didn’t always buy, but she loved to go and look.  She was a big fan of QVC, where she bought everyone Beekman 1802 products so they would love them as much as she did.  Susan was known to take vacation days to hit up the semiannual sale at Double D Ranch in Yoakum with her good friend Tracey Lomax.  She rarely came home from a Vegas trip without a pair of shoes.

Susan was diagnosed with small cell bladder cancer in the Spring of 2024. She bravely endured rounds of chemo and radiation throughout the summer. Unfortunately by Spring 2025, the cancer had grown. She decided to live the remainder of her life on her terms, and that she did. She was able to take a few more trips to Oklahoma, she visited friends in Arkansas and even made one last trip to Las Vegas in May. The pictures we have from that last trip say it all, she truly was in her happy place.  She spent a lot of time sitting on the porch of her home, reading books and playing slot machine games on her iPad, just enjoying the home she loved.

Susan was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Brent, her father, Donald Cramer and stepmother, Joy Cramer. She is survived by brother Jeff Cramer, sister Nancy Cramer, sister Tracy (Mike) Gibson, niece Jennifer (Justin) Mundy, niece Katie Kleypas and great nephew Grayson Mundy. She also leaves behind many close friends.  She also leaves her cat, Miss Priss, who wandered up pre-Covid to her house as a stray, but ended up being just the companion Susan needed as she started feeling worse.  Miss Priss has found a new loving home with her friend Tracey.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Dr. Vyas’s office at Scott and White Cancer Center, her hospice nurse Jillian from Altus Hospice, and her friends Karla and Danny Anderson for helping her be able to stay in the home that she loved until the very end.  We would like to also thank Neptune Society for making final arrangements so easy and respectful.
