Frieda Louise Kralis
Frieda Louise Kralis, age 88, passed away peacefully in Georgetown, Texas, on February 13, 2026.
Born to Jenny and Everett Benson on September 26, 1937 in Paris, Illinois, Frieda grew up as a midwestern girl but moved with her family to the Dallas suburb of Richardson, Texas in 1975.
Frieda and her family adapted quickly to life in Texas, making new friends, enjoying outdoor sports and the milder winters. Obvious to all, Frieda was a natural beauty. As a young woman, she modeled professionally in Chicago for several local stores’ advertising in newspapers and magazines. She carried herself with grace and poise and was always perfectly and fashionably coordinated, from head to toe. She loved fashion and when she got to Texas, she loved shopping in the big Texas malls looking for beautiful clothes. When all remember Frieda, a common description consistently mentioned includes the phrase “She was a pistol.” Everyone that knew her had a “Frieda story.” From her family, and childhood friends, to her cousins and everyone else that came in contact with her, they all enjoy sharing their “Frieda stories”. While she had moved from the Midwest as a young adult, she never stopped staying connected with her long-time midwestern friends and people she considered her extended family. She was an extremely loyal friend, maintaining childhood friendships for over 70 years, making sure she stayed in touch regularly with all of them across the country. Her biggest joy was her sons and grandkids and also her extended family, including nieces, nephews, and long-time friends. She also loved playing tennis and bridge, watching Dallas Cowboys football, golf and professional tennis matches with her sons and loved to talk and laugh for hours on the phone with her girlfriends and cousins. For the last several years, she spent a lot of time with her wonderful neighbors in Sun City and enjoyed the relaxation of retirement.
Frieda is preceded in death by her parents Everett and Jenny, her sister Beverly Hooten and dear, long-time friends that she considered her family members, Frank and Patsy Nicksic.
Frieda is survived by her sons Joe (and his wife Cindy), Mike (and his wife Anita) and Mitch (and his wife Rachel), her beloved grandchildren Allie, Ariel and Nathaniel, and all of her nieces and nephews.
Frieda’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of the medical teams at St. David’s Hospital in Georgetown, Seton Ascension Hospital in Round Rock, her loving neighbors in Sun City and the caring staff at Brookdale Senior Living in Georgetown.Rosary will be from 6 pm – 8 pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, also in Georgetown. There will be a private burial in Paris, Illinois.
