LTC Robert E. Stengle Jr.
LTC Robert E. Stengle Jr., age 89, of Georgetown, Texas passed away on February 26, 2026. He was born on May 18, 1936, in Geneva, New York, to Robert Sr and Julia Stengle. Robert retired from the US Army after 28 years of dedicated service. He also retired from the US Postal Service as a Rural Route 3 Carrier in the Georgetown Texas area.
LTC Stengle was preceded in death by his parents, and sons Douglas and Jon.
He graduated from Geneva High School in 1954 and Norwich University in 1958. Robert loved flying and pursued his career in the Army as a pilot and armor officer. He held a Commercial FAA pilots license for single/multi engine aircraft. Robert was also a Texas Commissioned Police Officer for the University of Texas Police Department in Austin Texas. He worked for several real estate companies in the Georgetown area before earning his Real Estate Brokers License.
LTC Stengle is survived by his wife, Connie Cruz Stengle, daughter Salley Harvey and sons Blane and Tim Stengle, step-sons Bryan and Jonas Cabillan, and lots of grandchildren.
LTC Stengle served two years in the Vietnam War and was awarded numerous medals to include: the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with 1st-7th Awards, Army Commendation Medal with 2/OLC, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Silver Star, Vietnam Honor Medal and the Senior Army Aviator Badge.
LTC Stengle was a past member of the Sertoma Club of Georgetown, past secretary of the Mercedes Benz Club of America – Lone Star Section of Austin, and a former member and officer of the VFW Post 8587 in Georgetown.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2026 from 6-7PM at Ramsey Funeral Home
LTC Robert Edward Stengle, Jr., will be laid to rest later at Central Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery, located near Ft. Hood in Killeen Texas.
