Beverly Ann Vaughan, 88, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 22, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family.
Born on March 25, 1938, in Dallas, Texas, to Thomas Rodney Hopkins and Olive Impson, Beverly grew up in Duncanville alongside her brothers, Hank and Tommy. From an early age, she was spirited and fearless—a proud tomboy, talented athlete, and someone who never hesitated to stand up for others.
In 1956, Beverly married her high school sweetheart, Manford “Manny” Vaughan. Together they built a life centered on family, raising four children and sharing nearly 64 years of marriage. Their years in southeast Dallas included serving as foster parents, opening their home to children in need.
In 1969, Beverly and Manny purchased land near Kemp, Texas, where they created a beloved family gathering place. Known for her hospitality, Beverly welcomed everyone with open arms—and unforgettable meals. Her homemade pancakes and biscuits became legendary among family and friends.
Later in life, Beverly and Manny moved to Sun City in Georgetown, where they enjoyed a slower pace and the simple pleasures of everyday life. In 2023, Beverly moved to The Hacienda, where she quickly became known as the unofficial “Mayor,” forming friendships and warmly welcoming new residents.
Beverly is survived by her four children Dewayne, Mark, Leslie, and Judith, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends.
She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
