Beverly Jane Tenny Rand Bendall

August 15, 1923, to February 16, 2023. Beverly Rand Bendall, 99 years and six months, of Wimberley, passed into everlasting life on Thursday, February 16. She died peacefully in her sleep early that morning.

Beverly was born August 15, 1923, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, the only child of Vida Duhnke and Greenleaf Sterling Rand. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1941. It was at the USO in Manitowoc that she met Alvin “Buck” Bendall, who was there to carry out sea trials on the USS Hammerhead, one of the 28 submarines built in Manitowoc during the war. Beverly and Buck were married in Manitowoc on September 9, 1945, when Buck returned from the South Pacific theater. They moved to Houston where he worked at Humble Pipeline Company and later Exxon, and Beverly raised their two sons, Randy and John.

After more than 40 years in Houston, Beverly and Buck moved to Colorado Springs. Here they started skiing, a hobby they introduced and passed on to their family. In 1996, to be closer to family, they moved to Georgetown, where they developed many close friendships in the Sun City community. Beverly later moved to The Wesleyan in Georgetown with friends from Sun City, then Ledgestone in Dripping Springs, and finally to Alexis Pointe in Wimberley.

Beverly enjoyed traveling with Buck and was a talented ballroom dancer, winning many trophies and dance competitions. She was also a gifted oil painter, and enjoyed stained glass and rug hooking. She took great pride in her marriage of 64 years and loved her sons and spending time with them and her family.

Beverly is predeceased by both her parents, Vida in 1952 and Sterling in 1966, by her husband Buck in 2009, and her daughter-in-law, Betty Jane Robbins Bendall in 2022. Beverly is survived by her two sons Randy and John, two grandsons Jeffrey (Adrienne) and Matthew (Kristina), and three great-grandchildren Grover, Gram and Susanna.

Beverly will be cremated and interred at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Buck at a private family ceremony.
