Sherri Lynn Revier
Sherri Lynn Revier
On Friday, May 19, 2023, Sherri Lynn Revier, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at age 68.
Sherri was born in Dallas, Texas, on September 27, 1954, to Robert Alger and Sarah Faye Duncan. Sherri was the youngest of three children, and grew up in Lewisville, Texas.
At Lewisville High School, Sherri won numerous University Interscholastic League awards for typing and shorthand dictation, and she worked in various part-time administrative assistant positions. After graduation in 1972, Sherri attended the Executive Secretarial School in Dallas, Texas. Excelling in her studies, Sherri set a new achievement record for accelerated graduation time. After secretarial school, Sherri began her professional career at Frito-Lay as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Southwest Regional Marketing Director.
In April 1969, Sherri met John Revier on a blind date. They were married on September 28, 1973. John and Sherri moved to Brownwood, Texas, in January of 1974, where Sherri worked at the Herman Bennett Company. In May 1977, Sherri and John moved to Austin, Texas, where she continued her career as an Executive Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Comptroller for the State of Texas. In 1978, the couple relocated to Georgetown, Texas. After the birth of their son Scott in 1979, Sherri started her own sewing business working for local clients. Sherri’s kind, giving spirit and her deep love for children led her to spend time volunteering for The Learning Tree program at the First United Methodist Church.
In 1994, Sherri was the first Texas employee hired by the Del Webb Corporation to assist in the initiation, development, opening, and build out of the Sun City community in Georgetown as the Executive Assistant to the General Manager. Sherri began her professional real estate career with ERA Colonial in 2002 as a Real Estate Agent. During her time at ERA Colonial, Sherri worked with hundreds of clients to sell their homes or help them purchase the homes of their dreams. Sherri built long-lasting relationships with her clients, and through her caring abilities to address the needs of each individual and family, her clients knew they were getting the very best.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Sherri. An avid cook and hostess, she loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her friends and family. Sherri found adventure through her favorite travels to Port Aransas beaches and to Colorado mountains for family vacations. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening, relaxing by the pool, dancing to George Strait songs, and watching sunsets.
Sherri was given the name “Shemmi” by her granddaughter and quickly made it her identity. Shemmi was the most affectionate, caring, warm-hearted, and honest person. Sherri’s two grandchildren, Brettlyn Revier and Bryden Revier, were the sunshine of her life. She lived her life to the fullest and devoted each day to loving and enjoying her family.
Sherri is preceded in death by her father, Robert Alger Duncan; mother, Sarah Faye Duncan; and her sister, Barbara Faye Routh.
Sherri is survived by her loving husband, John Revier; son Scott Revier and his wife, Melissa Revier; daughter Amy Revier and Clayton Littlejohn; sister Kathy Morse and children Brian and Melissa Morse and family, Wendy and Jerry Northcutt and family; grandchildren Brettlyn Revier and Bryden Revier; nieces Donna Reid, Denise Stubblefield, nephews Kyle Routh, Kevin Routh and each of their families and brother-in-law Gary Routh.
Words cannot express how much Sherri will be missed. She lived an extraordinary life, bringing joy and happiness to each and every moment. Sherri touched many lives through her career and within her family. Though hearts are sad, her spirit lives on through her family, and she will always be lovingly remembered and missed by all who knew her.
A come-and-go Celebration of Life will be held at the Legacy Hills Pavilion on Monday, June 12, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the I Am ALS Foundation at www.iamals.org.
