David M. Price, who, as state librarian of West Virginia, led a highly successful initiative in the 1990s to provide free public computers and internet access in libraries, died June 26, 2023, in Georgetown, Texas. He was 80 years old.

Carl James Fink passed from this life on June 15, 2023, with his family by his side. He was 93 years old. Youngest of five, he was born to L.B. (Bradley) and Mary Delilah (Lila) Fink, née Yow, in Faith, NC.

Billie Wray Kay Eakin Strauss passed away peacefully on June 27, 2023.  Billie was born on July 28, 1929, in Tyler, Texas, to William Rosamond Kay and Velma Verona Herring Kay.  The family moved to Madisonville, Texas in 1936.

Janice Ruth Dean, 85, of Georgetown, Texas, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 24, 2023.  Janice was born on November 11, 1937, to R.D. and Ella Fletcher in Georgetown. She married the love of her life of 69 years, Lloyd (Sonny) Dean on February 28, 1953.

Roy B. Shilling, Jr., who served 19 years as Southwestern University’s 13th president, died June 24 in Austin, Texas. During his tenure as president, Shilling led a complete redesign of the Southwestern campus, including major renovations and new construction involving 31 different buildings.
