First responders honor September 11 victims

    Georgetown Fire Department and Georgetown Police Department on September 11, 2025, climbed stadium steps at at Birklelbach Field during the Memorial Stair Climb held commemorating the 24th anniversary of the attacks on United States soil on September 11, 2001.  

    Firefighters, police officers and some family members marched up and down 1,800 stadium steps to remember  first responders climbing 110 floors of the World Trade Center towers in New York City.  Georgetown’s Fire and Police Department personnel began this tradition on September 11, 2011.
