Federal funding sought for Austin Avenue pedestrian bridges

Georgetown is applying for the federal Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity grant that could help cut the cost of the Austin Avenue Pedestrian and Bicycle bridges. If awarded, it would help cut the city’s project cost by 48 percent.

Construction is underway, as Georgetown converts the area between the Light and Waterworks building and the Georgetown Public Library into an event space that will have a stage, event lawn shade structure and food truck parking area.

Update: City opens offices back up on January 22

Update: The city is reopening its offices that were closed due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day and inclement weather. Additionally, Texas Disposal Systems customers will have their trash and recycling pickup days pushed back one day. For example, Tuesday pickup will be on Wednesday.
