A Georgetown tradition for 72 years, the city’s Juneteenth celebration will take place over two days on June 14-15. Juneteenth marks the day that slaves were freed in Texas.

Celebrate the unofficial Star Wars Day, May 4, from 2-4 p.m. at the Legacy Pavilion in San Gabriel Park with the Georgetown Public Library. There will be a Jedi training course, battles with lightsabers and the chance to destroy the Death Star.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., many organizations throughout the City of Georgetown are hosting events on January 15 to honor the impact and legacy of the civil rights leader.  Beginning at noon on the 15th, there will be a MLK Day March starting at the courthouse on the Square.

The Williamson County AgriLife Extension office will start the new year with multiple events beginning January 2024.     Green Thumbs Up Gardening Program Master Gardener Lora Green will be discussing hardscape and how to integrate it into your outdoor areas, according to the press release.

‘Boomtown’ gala for Florence boosters

The third annual Florence Chamber Gala is set for Saturday, September 23, at Reunion Ranch west of Georgetown.   The gala will serve a steak dinner, music by Jarrell's classic rock band JR’s Jukebox, live and silent auctions, raffle, a photo booth and a cash bar.
