64 acres released from Georgetown ETJ

Approximately 64 acres were released from the southeastern part of Georgetown’s extraterritorial jurisdiction on Tuesday.
Properties in the ETJ are outside of the city limits and do not pay city taxes, but are subject to some city regulations and may receive city services when available.

Georgetown City Council place $130 million bond package on November ballot

Georgetown City Council has finalized its November bond package, and during a special meeting Tuesday, August 15, officially placed $130 million worth of projects on the November 7 ballot.

Georgetown discusses tax rate for 2024 budget

For Fiscal Year 2024, Georgetown city staff projects the city’s revenue will be $97.59 million, a 9.3 percent decrease from the city’s 2023 budget.
City Manager David Morgan gave an overview of the next fiscal year’s budget and received input and feedback from the council at a workshop August 8.

Blue Hole Park improvements may not make November bond package

As Georgetown City Council continues to look at projects to include in a possible $136 million November bond election, council members discussed removing Blue Hole Park improvements from a package in favor of using Certificate of Obligation to fund the work.
