Georgetown, Jarrell ISDs cancel school for Wednesday, February 1

Georgetown and Jarrell ISDs have canceled classes and all school activities for Wednesday, February 1. The National Weather Service is expecting the significant icing event to continue through Wednesday, with multiple rounds of freezing rain today and tomorrow.

Update: Georgetown and Jarrell ISD schools closed Tuesday due to weather

The ongoing cold snap has caused changes in area school district schedules. Classes and all school activities have been canceled for Tuesday, January 31, in both Georgetown and Jarrell ISDs. Both districts announced the closure about 3 p.m. on Monday.

Georgetown ISD to hold State of the District address

Georgetown ISD will hold its annual State of the District event March 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Hammerlun Center, 507 East University Avenue.
