Grumpy George, an English pub, is opening on the Square later this summer

European immigrants Karen and Jack Soeffker are creating an authentic English pub on the Square called Grumpy George. The restaurant could open in early August at 114 East Seventh Street. Ms. Soeffker — the owner of All Things Kids on the Square — is originally from England.

Market Days Heats Up in Georgetown

Temperatures were climbing well into the 90s by early-afternoon, with highs expected in the triple digits during Market Days on Saturday, June 10.

Georgetown Area Junior Forum lends a helping hand to local nonprofit

Representatives of Georgetown Area Junior Forum on June 1 gave $1,400 in donations as well as non-perishable pantry food items to Helping Hands of Georgetown.

First impressions: Crowds give big thumbs up to new Wolf Lakes Village H-E-B

The shiny new H-E-B and its parking lot were filled Wednesday, June 7, when the company opened its long-awaited Georgetown store in Wolf Lakes Village. In a festive atmosphere with strolling mariachis, eager shoppers filled their baskets, snacked on samples and feasted on barbecue.

Georgetown nonprofit provides social support to single mothers

Without social support, it is easy to feel hopeless and alone as a single mother. Mommie Support Network is a Georgetown-based nonprofit that aims to empower low-income, single mothers by providing them with a supportive community.
On Tuesday, company officials — along with the project developer Iva McLachlan and Georgetown and Williamson County VIPs — cut the ribbon to celebrate its addition to Georgetown.

Georgetown's 3D printed homes in Wolf Ranch take shape

The first six homes in Georgetown’s first 3D printed community are set to hit the market this weekend. Prospective homebuyers can register for VIP drawing from June 5-9, and sales begin June 10.

About 30 members of the Williamson County Retired Teachers Association joined more than 1,000 teachers from across the State for Rally Day on April 12, pressing legislators to pass a Cost-of-Living Adjustment to their retirement benefit.
