Black resistance coined as national, local theme for Black History Month

February is Black History Month and the Georgetown Cultural Citizen Memorial Association is celebrating with a series of events following the month’s national theme of “Black Resistance.

Williamson County resources for after the storm  

While the weekend forecast calls for warmer temperatures, sun and dry weather, the county is still recovering from this week’s winter storm.  Reporting damages  Williamson County is under a disaster declaration as a result of the winter storm.

City of Georgetown offers updates about ice storm

The City of Georgetown released the following alerts Wednesday afternoon to help residents get through the rest of the ongoing ice storm. City facility closures City facilities and some services will remain closed Thursday, February 2.

Torchy's Tacos files permits for Georgetown restaurant

Permits were filed earlier this month to construct a Torchy’s Tacos in Georgetown. Paperwork was submitted with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Update: Georgetown and Jarrell ISD schools closed Tuesday due to weather

The ongoing cold snap has caused changes in area school district schedules. Classes and all school activities have been canceled for Tuesday, January 31, in both Georgetown and Jarrell ISDs. Both districts announced the closure about 3 p.m. on Monday.
A mural designed by artist Yasaman Mehrsa will be created in honor of Williamson County and Georgetown’s 175 year history this spring, as both the county and city look to celebrate the milestone with the community.

A mural designed by artist Yasaman Mehrsa will be created in honor of Williamson County and Georgetown’s 175 year history this spring, as both the county and city look to celebrate the milestone with the community.

Mural selected to represent city, county for 175th birthday celebration

The design for a mural to honor the 175 year history of both Williamson County and the City of Georgetown has been selected.  The winning selection, named after the theme for the 175th birthday celebration, is “Still Making History” by artist Yasaman Mehrsa.
