It’s Tuna time again in Georgetown

The Palace Playhouse production of A Tuna Christmas debuted to a full house December 2. Ed Howard, Jaston Williams and Joe Sears created Greater Tuna and first presented it in venues around Austin in 1981.

Georgetown Swirl sets masquerade theme for 2023

Don a masquerade mask for the 13th annual Georgetown Swirl in March on the Square. Tickets are now on sale for the event.  Dress up for the annual fundraising event hosted by the Georgetown Main Street Program from 5-9 p.m., March 4.

Ho’ ho’ holiday cheer planned for Georgetown’s Breakfast with Santa

Join Santa and members of the Georgetown Fire Department for the 22nd annual Breakfast with Santa. The ticketed event takes place 7:30-11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, at the Community Center, 445 East Morrow Street in San Gabriel Park.

Ronald Reagan Boulevard bridge opens

The newly constructed Ronald Reagan Boulevard bridge, which goes over Ranch to Market Road 2338 in Georgetown northwest of Sun City, opened to the public Tuesday, December 6.  The Texas Department of Transportation announced the opening in a press release last week.

Georgetown's Christmas Stroll took place December 2-3. The annual holiday parade Saturday morning was a highlight of the festival.

Celebrating the pecan with two Williamson County food shows

Pecan lovers can rejoice this month with two opportunities to enjoy and show off their crops.  All county residents with a pecan tree are welcome to participate in the 2022 Williamson-Bell County Pecan Show on December 13 and the Williamson County Pecan Food Show on December 15.

David Watts launches new podcast about Georgetown

A former Georgetown resident is paying homage to his hometown through a new podcast produced all the way from his new home in San Francisco.  David Watts is a man of many hats. At the top of the bill, he is a doctor and medical lecturer, but also an author of western books, a poet and a musician.

New Tai Chi class, demonstration this weekend in Georgtown

The Georgetown branch of Taoist Tai Chi is inviting new students to their class beginning January 9. A live demonstration will take place this weekend on December 10 for anyone interested to see the students in action and learn more.
