Georgetown celebrates MLK Jr. Day with parade, program

Georgetown resident Sharon Maynard was one of dozens of people who gathered outside the Williamson County Courthouse for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade Monday, January 16. “I’ve never marched before, but I wanted to come out to try to make a difference,” Ms. Maynard said.

Georgetown City Council reviews parking garage designs

After receiving feedback from Georgetown’s Historical and Architectural Review Commission about the city’s incoming downtown parking garage, city council members showed support for designs that were shorter than those initially presented.  Design details for the garage — planned for 0.

Georgetown receives feedback from public, council on Downtown Master Plan

The public received an overview of the city’s upcoming work to create a new Downtown Master Plan Tuesday, January 10.  “We’re here to talk about the Downtown Master Plan update and where we’re at in that process,” Downtown and Tourism Director Kim McAuliffe said.

Georgetown Army vet makes Honor Flight trek to Washington

Frances “Fay” Pool has always loved to travel. A 21-year career in the U.S. Army took her to many bases stateside, plus far-flung locales in Germany and South Korea. But Ms.

New Central Texas Philharmonic League focuses on culture, education and networking

The new Central Texas Philharmonic League’s first meeting 19 will feature Georgetown Mayor Josh Schroeder.    The meeting will be at 1 p.m., January 19, held in the Georgetown Public Library. Mr. Schroeder will talk about the positive impact the arts and a symphony can provide for a community.

Georgetown residents will cast ballots for three city government positions and two school board seats in this year’s May 6 elections. Georgetown City Council positions up for election are the council seats for districts 2 and 6, as well as the mayoral seat.
