Jarrell City Council member charged with drug possession

Jeffery “Jeff” Siedel, a minister and former Jarrell City Council member, was arrested for drug possession on July 26. According to the official affidavit, a Williamson County Sheriff’s K-9 Deputy was on patrol driving northbound on Interstate Highway 35, near Old Setter’s Boulevard and U.S.

Jarrell is obtaining more than 1,000 undeveloped acres of Georgetown’s water territory, and has submitted official paperwork to the Public Utility Commissioner of Texas to complete the transfer.

Jarrell’s City Manager Jorge Hernandez — who joined the city in December 2024 — has resigned. After seeking counsel from the city attorney, Jarrell City Council accepted Mr. Hernandez’s resignation Tuesday, April 7. Mr. Hernandez was placed on administrative leave on February 19.

The Jarrell Schwertner Water Supply Corporation issued a “Leak notice” to its customers and service providers on Wednesday, December 10. The Corporation serves 4,550 people and is based in Jarrell. The general service area is 80,000 acres, located in both Bell and Williamson Counties.
