Ascension Seton Williamson embarks on expansion

 Ascension Seton Williamson broke ground on a $230 million Round Rock hospital expansion project September 26. The project will bring a new six-story tower, along with 160 beds, two new operating rooms, an additional MRI, a new cath lab, an observation unit and an expanded emergency room.

Residents ask for HOA transparency

The residents of the Teravista neighborhood gathered on August 28 at the Austin Community College Round Rock Campus for a town hall they organized with State Representative Caroline Harris Davila to discuss issues they’ve been having with their HOA.

Williamson County foundation honors nonprofits, volunteers at awards lunch

 The Texas Baptist Children's Home received the 2024 Impact Award September 4 during the Central Texas Community Foundation’s sixth annual Legacy Luncheon. Formerly the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation, Central Texas Community Foundation’s mission is to spark philanthropic giving.

Third suspect detained after Juneteenth shooting

A third suspect is in custody following the deadly shooting that occurred on Saturday, June 15, at Old Settlers Park during Round Rock's annual Juneteenth celebration, according to Police media channels.At approximately 11 p.m.

ACC enrollment jumps for fall semester

Since the approval of House Bill 8 last June, Austin Community College has made efforts to make higher education more accessible. As registration for the fall 2024 semester continues, incoming freshmen are jumping on the opportunity.

County cities gain revenue, new sales tax report finds

The Texas Comptroller has released the updated sales tax data for June 2024.  For cities across the county, most saw an increase in revenues when compared to 2023’s numbers. Most notably Liberty Hill gained 81.77 percent more in profit, earning over $575,000.

Round Rock PD arrests shooting suspect, investigation still ongoing

Ricky Tyrone Thompson III, 17, of Manor, was arrested in Pflugerville on June 20 by the Lonestar Fugitive Task Force in connection with a shooting that took place at Round Rock’s Juneteenth celebration in Old Settlers Park this past weekend. Two were killed and 14 more injured at the event.
