Taylor Economic Development Corporation gets new president, CEO

The Taylor Economic Development Corporation has selected Ben White as its new president and CEO. Mr. White is set to begin his new role in mid-November.    According to the press release, he has over 20 years of economic development experience. Mr.

Taylor community honored at Samsung event

The Taylor community was recognized by Samaung during the “Friend-chip” event September 20 at the Taylor Mansion.    The tech company hosted two Friend-chip events to recognize and celebrate the dozens of organizations that the company partners with around the Austin area.

Texas Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of a Workforce Solutions office at Temple College in Taylor.

FDA approves new round of Covid-19 booster shots

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a new Covid-19 vaccine that will soon be made available to the public.  Last week, on September 12, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended a Covid-19 vaccine that has been updated for 2023-2024.

The Williamson Museum honors Sun newspaper family

The 11th annual Cattleman’s Ball swings into life at the Sun City Ballroom September 23 at 5:30 p.m. This year’s honorees are publishers Clark Thurmond and Linda Scarbrough, who own The Williamson County Sun in Georgetown — an independent newspaper owned and operated by their family since 1948.
