Portions of Berry Creek Drive reopen after storm damage

Update: The portion of Berry Creek Drive that was closed due to storm damage reopened on Saturday, May 23, according to Kieth Hutchinson, city communications manager. He said the public works department installed a "precast concrete box culvert" that allowed them to make repairs.

Georgetown City Council okays road changes for Austin Avenue, University

Georgetown City Council approved schematics for the Austin Avenue corridor and downtown road changes that are a part of the larger Downtown Master Plan, with a goal of making downtown more pedestrian friendly on April 28.

Georgetown amends engineering contract for Austin Avenue, bridge work

Rehabilitation work has yet to resume on the Austin Avenue bridges, but Georgetown City Council amended a task order with engineering firm Aguirre & Fields LP in the amount of $485,593 during the April 14 council meeting.

Slew of traffic light projects underway in Georgetown

Three new traffic lights along Ronald Reagan Boulevard are in various stages of completion. The traffic light at the Ronald Reagan and Sun City Boulevard intersection will be updated by the city. The intersection is also part of Williamson County’s Ronald Reagan Boulevard Widening project.

Commissioners greenlight facility, road projects

Williamson County Commissioners approved multiple agreements and applications for several construction projects throughout the county January 7.  The projects included the Expo Center, the Lake Creek Annex, the Liberty Hill Bypass, and Ranch to Market Road 2243, according to county documents.

Georgetown looks to state funding for future road projects

Georgetown is looking at state grant opportunities to fund road improvement in 2025 and beyond. Georgetown received a grant this year from the Texas Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Improvement Program for improvements to the intersection of County Road 245 and Ronald Reagan.
