The theater, which turned 100 years-old in February, sustained severe damage during a winter storm on January 25th. The theater is closed while restoration work continues. The goal is to open a performance of “Jesus Christ Superstar” on the Springer Stage on May 29th.
The Palace needs $500,000 for repairs to bring it back 'like you've never seen'
In what was supposed to be a year of celebrating 100 years of the Palace Theatre, mother nature had a different plan. $5 million gift supports Southwestern University’s Fine Arts Building renovation

Southwestern University received a $5 million gift from an anonymous donor to support renovation for its Fine Arts Building. The university announced the gift March 25.“We are deeply grateful for this transformative gift and the generosity behind it,” President Laura Skandera Trombley said.

Two more subdivisions in the works for north Georgetown

Real estate development firm Freehold Capital Management is planning two Municipal Utility Developments north of Sun City, which could bring 4,000 homes to the area. The MUDs — named Yearwood and Rock Bluff Ranch — sit outside Georgetown’s city limits, but would be annexed into the city if approved.

Sixteen-year-old Kevin Rodriguez was riding down the sidewalk on his e-bike when a car came around the corner and hit him. He wasn’t hurt, however, his bike was broken — leaving him without transportation to get to his part-time job at McDonald’s.
