Georgetown ISD superintendent Fred Brent to retire June 30

Fred Brent, superintendent of Georgetown ISD since 2014, said Monday, April 3, he will officially retire from the district on June 30. He plans to serve in an advisory capacity as “superintendent emeritus” from May 1 to June 30. Mr.

Garey Park receives $20 million from namesake’s estate for updates

Improvements are on the horizon for Georgetown’s Garey Park thanks to a $20 million donation from namesake Jack Garey’s estate. Details of the financial gift were presented to city council by Parks and Recreation Director Kimberly Garrett during a March 28 workshop.

Longtime philanthropists Barbara and George Brightwell honored by loop naming

Williamson County honored philanthropists Barbara and George Brightwell Wednesday, March 29, by naming a road in front of the Juvenile Justice Center the “Brightwell Loop.” A crowd gathered in front of the building to welcome Ms.
