Five candidates up for two Jarrell ISD board seats

Five candidates are vying for two places on the Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees in the November 11 election. Places 5 and 7 are on the ballot. Candidates for Place 5 are incumbent Tamara Dozier and Humberto Carbajal. In Place 7, candidates are incumbent Rebecca Kirby, Ginger Martinez and Sherry K.

The Reverend Ron Swain — who has served as director of transformative mission ministries at First United Methodist Church since 2014 — will be chaplain and director of religious and spiritual life at Southwestern University beginning November 1.

The Williamson County Transformative Justice Program received praise during Tuesday’s commissioners court meeting. The 277th District’s Judge Stacey Mathews, Program Director Terence Davis and Scott Matthew, juvenile services executive director, provided program updates to commissioners.

Holiday Home Tour on horizon

The holidays are around the corner and the Kiwanis Club of Sun City Georgetown has opened ticket sales for their annual Holiday Home Tour. Five Sun City homes will be decked out in Christmas and holiday garb by homeowners and professional decorators.

WHO raises funds for Opportunities for Williamson and Burnet Counties

Women Helping Others again have had a busy October, beginning with the Sock Hop fundraiser for The Nest Empowerment Center – The Georgetown Project, which serves students who are at-risk, homeless or living in transition and enrolled and attending a Georgetown ISD high school.
