Lona Lenora Bullin

December 29, 1934 September 23, 2022

Lona Lenora Poff Bullin, 87, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 23, 2022. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, 5600 Williams Drive.

Lona was born on December 29, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri to Millard Poff and LaVerna (Poff) Elder. She spent her childhood growing up on her maternal grandparents farm surrounded by aunts, uncles and cousins. She graduated from Lafayette High School in St. Joseph, Missouri where she fell in love with her beloved husband, Jack Bullin. Lona and Jack actually met at a family’s birthday party when she was just six years old, however, their story together didn’t begin until after high school.

On January 31, 1954, Lona married the love of her life, Jack Bullin. She spent the next 20 years raising her family and traveling the world with Jack’s Naval career. Lona lived in six states, as well as Bermuda and Japan during those years. They retired and settled in Corpus Christi in 1973, where she spent the majority of her time cooking big meals for family, throwing parties for all their friends, square dancing with the Circle Up Squares, traveling the U.S. in an RV with Jack, and spending as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren.

In 2015, Lona and Jack moved to Sun City in Georgetown, Texas. She immediately made friends and soon became the street captain of Salado Creek Lane. She spent her time in Sun City baking cookies for her neighbors and friends and planning her next party to host. Lona was at home wherever she went, she never met a stranger. She was a believer in Christ and was an active member of the Worship Place.

Lona is survived by her husband Jack Bullin, their three children, Terri Burger and her husband Christopher of Bertram, Gary Bullin and his wife Mary of Cedar Park, and Rebecca Walker and her husband Curtis of San Antonio. Always in her heart were her grandchildren Bryan, Kimberly, Halie, Heather, Samantha, Sara, and Amanda. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and many neighbors and friends.

The family has requested contributions in her memory be made to the Caring Place.
